Sous Chef Job Description We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef to oversee the smooth operation of our kitchens, ensuring exceptional food quality and customer satisfaction. Job Responsibilities: • Support the efficient operation of the kitchens, maintaining the company's reputation for food quality • Organise the planning, preparation, cooking, and presentation of food to meet company and client standards • Ensure supplies are correctly issued, used, and accounted for, conducting stock takes and food rotation procedures • Set objectives and oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchens, supervising recruitment and selection processes • Assess employee performance, recognising training needs and potential • Stay up-to-date with industry knowledge on current food trends and ingredients • Control and achieve agreed financial targets, maximising commercial opportunities and communicating with the team • Ensure the location meets statutory and company requirements for Health and Safety, Food Safety, and environmental legislation and procedures Requirements: • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role • Passion for food and creating exceptional experiences • Ability to manage, train, and support a team • Financial acumen, with analytical skills and budget management experience • Excellent coaching, delegation, and influencing skills • Ability to prioritise multiple projects in a fast-paced environment • Meticulous organisational abilities and attention to detail • Empathetic, clear, and effective verbal and written communication • Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective • Excellent strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills • Alignment with BaxterStorey's core values About BaxterStorey: For almost 20 years, we have created beautiful spaces, exciting menus, and friendly teams for every client, in every location.
