Job Description The House of Commons’ Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to create a pool of qualified candidates for various Deputy Director positions. The Organization: The House of Commons Administration is dedicated to providing non-partisan support and services to the Members of Parliament and the institution as a whole. Our Real Property Team is responsible for maintaining and developing the Parliament’s infrastructure and ensuring that our heritage buildings and modern facilities meet the needs of today and tomorrow. This includes overseeing the preservation and restoration of historically significant structures, implementing innovative solutions for efficiency and sustainability, and ensuring that all facilities are safe, functional, and conducive to the work of parliamentarians and their staff. By balancing tradition with modernization, our team plays a crucial role in safeguarding the legacy of Canada's parliamentary precinct while supporting its evolving operational needs. About the Role: We are seeking dynamic and experienced leaders that are interested in being part of a pool of candidates for various Deputy Director positions. In this role, you will support the strategic and operational management of our real property division, ensuring the effective delivery of projects and services that uphold the high standards of the House of Commons. These positions offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to the stewardship of Canada’s parliamentary buildings and infrastructure. Deputy Directors play a crucial role in the strategic and operational management of the real property division. This involves overseeing such activities as facilities planning, real estate management, facilities operations, project delivery, resource allocation, stakeholder engagement, and performance management. Work-life balance /35-hour workweek 4 weeks’ vacation (minimum) Qualifications Education: A degree in architecture, design, engineering, facility management, or a related field OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Experience: Extensive experience in project or facilities planning, reporting, scheduling, and risk assessment for construction and renovation projects and/or facilities management including budget and contract management and solutions development; Skilled in quality assurance and leading teams for high-value and complex projects or property portfolios; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders; A comprehensive understanding of the organizational structure of the House of Commons, its corporate vision, strategic goals, policies, and procedures; Experience working with federal, provincial, and municipal laws, regulations, and building codes governing the construction sector; Extensive knowledge of real property management policies and processes of the Government, including the National Building Code of Canada, other applicable building codes, and industry standards; Successfully led teams in aligning project objectives with the organization's strategic vision, ensuring cohesive efforts toward achieving overarching goals and objectives; Proven track record of cultivating strong client relationships and delivering tailored solutions to meet their specific needs and expectations. Assets : Additional certifications in architecture, design, engineering, facility management, project management, or a related field will be considered an asset.*
