Mohawk College is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Chief Information and Technology Officer (CITO) to lead our institution’s technology transformation. The Opportunity: As the CITO, you will shape and execute our information technology strategy, driving innovation across academic and administrative functions. Leading teams in IT governance, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and agile delivery, you will ensure seamless, high-quality technology solutions. Your strategic leadership will guide IT investments, identify emerging opportunities, and develop sustainable technology systems that enhance learning and business operations. Key Responsibilities: Lead IT strategy development, integrating emerging technologies like AI, data analytics, and cloud computing. Foster collaboration between academic, administrative, and external stakeholders to drive digital transformation. Oversee cybersecurity protocols to safeguard student data and institutional information. Guide the migration to cloud-based solutions for enhanced efficiency and innovation. Promote student-focused technologies that improve the digital learning experience. Manage IT budgets, vendor partnerships, and staff development, ensuring a high-performing and inclusive team. Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate is an experienced IT leader with a track record of driving change in complex organizations, preferably in higher education. You have hands-on experience managing cloud technology, ERP systems, and IT governance, and excel in building collaborative relationships across diverse teams. You are a strategic thinker with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion, passionate about leveraging technology to support academic excellence. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or equivalent. Project Management Certification (PMI) is an asset. Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) basic training is mandatory; ITIL Service Master is an asset. 12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience. Expertise in cloud computing, business intelligence, and Agile/DevOps methodologies. Proven success in leading IT transformations in large, complex organizations.
