Job Requirements / Description
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring the final product meets Element5's quality standards. This role requires being the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle, managing changes and ensuring profitability, and coordinating with internal departments to achieve timely delivery. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of construction management processes and exhibit excellent leadership and communication skills.Key Responsibilities:Oversee construction projects from the placement of orders to production and installation (100%).Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring Element5's financial goals are met.Enforce agreement terms, managing margins and profitability as the project evolves.Implement charges for customer-requested changes, aiming for a 15% gross margin on such changes.Coordinate with internal departments to ensure on-time project delivery.Manage invoicing and payments for projects, collaborating with finance to maintain timely payments.Determine and manage resources, including equipment, materials, and manpower.Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors, and obtain necessary permits and licenses.Prepare progress reports and conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality.Qualifications & Skills:Ability to read and understand Cadwork drawings.Proficient in MS Office Suite and familiar with construction and project management software.Comprehensive understanding of construction management processes.Knowledge of relevant regulations, quality standards, and human resources.Highly organized with excellent planning skills.Experienced in conflict resolution and management.Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation.Leadership skills with an ability to manage indirectly.Education and Experience:Extensive experience managing budgets for construction projects.Deep knowledge of construction materials and equipment.Proven track record in construction management or a similar role.Leadership experience with strong and proven leadership skills.BSc/BA degree in Architecture, Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.PMP or equivalent certification is an asset.Why Join Element5?Be a part of a pioneering company in the mass timber construction industry.Work on innovative projects that contribute to sustainability and architectural innovation.Enjoy a dynamic, growth-oriented work environment with opportunities for professional development.Element5 is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
