The International Potato Center (CIP)is looking for highly motivated and experienced Country Manager to lead CIP’sregional Office in New Delhi, India. The position: The CountryManager is responsible for government, partner and funder relations and representsCIP with these stakeholders in India, working closely with the RegionalDirector for South Asia. The Country Manager will ensure CIP’s organizationalgrowth in the country through technically and financially sound programming andequitable partnerships. Specifically, the Country Manager will develop and leadCIP’s country implementation plans for India in support of the CIP2030strategic goals and in response to the priorities of national and localstakeholders. Depending on technical expertise, the Country Manager may alsolead or contribute to the implementation of CIP science and innovation projectsin India. Requirements Advanced degree (PhD orMaster) in a Science or Management discipline. At least 10 years ofprogressive international experience in similar research and/or developmentorganizations. Significant leadershipexperience in an equivalent position in a development or internationalorganization. Strong track record ofestablishing and managing strategic partnerships with funders, governments,international organizations, and the research community in India. Strong knowledge andexperience of management practices to enable the creation of appropriatecountry implementation plans. Proven expertise of leadingfunding initiatives and managing complex proposal development processes. Proven experience ofmanaging implementation of research or development projects in India involvingnational staff and local partners. Budget management and ITliterate (Microsoft and ERP software). o Focus on big picture and strategic vision. o Building and maintaining partnerships and relationships. o Planning and managing staff to achieved quality results. o Influencing and resolving differences across boundaries.
