Site Engineering Manager The Site Engineering Manager oversees all major capital expenditures within the plant. Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will be the point person for all projects from conception through installation and commissioning, including new and current initiatives. This is a leadership role, and the Site Engineering Manager will lead a team of project experts and contracted third-party vendors in all phases when adding new equipment to the facility. Key Accountabilities: Manage site projects related to large CAPEX and PXB initiatives, commissioning, product development projects, site innovation, cost reduction, and investment projects as defined by the Technical Manager and in alignment with Plant Manager/site objectives. Know, respect, and enforce Roquette policies and procedures as they relate to employees and food safety, quality, hygiene, and environment. Responsible for your team’s work assignments, schedule, goal setting, training, and achievements related to their job description and areas of responsibility. Coordinate the installation, commissioning, and acceptance works of installations with maintenance teams, VSU, Group Engineering, Production managers, HSE department, and Quality correspondents. Ensure proper deployment of the Vertical-start-up (VSU) method for projects as needed. Collaborate with all internal and external partners on each project and partner with third-party vendors to assist in completing Roquette initiatives. Coordinate and establish spending priorities. Ensure the budgetary reporting of technical subjects within its scope. Ensure the preparation of CAPEX / PXB budget in collaboration with the Plant Manager and Technical Manager. Manage the budgets for site improvements or investments entrusted by carrying out arbitrations on expenditure for all trades with the managers concerned. Ensure the delivery of all technical documentation related to the projects you are responsible for. Deliver status reports to the leadership group in a timely fashion. Establish monthly activity reports and share information with key stakeholders. Lead and/or participate in meetings with other services or organizations related to site projects. Ensure your team is technically strong in subjects such as mechanics, steam production, manufacturing, process control, piping, and large CAPEX. Participate and/or lead large equipment purchases and services as needed for the site. Functional and Technical Competencies: Exemplary leadership, communication, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills. Project management experience on large-scale, multi-million-dollar projects. Broad technical background (mechanics, instrumentation, construction, piping, etc.). Continuous improvement mindset and always exploring process improvement opportunities for the site. Able to remain calm and confident under pressure, drive the project schedule, and influence others. Promoter of employee safety and continuous improvement initiatives. Teamwork driven and results-oriented. Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office series). Education: Master’s degree in a technical field (industrial mechanics, energy, piping) with 5 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (industrial mechanics, energy, piping) with 10 years of experience, depending on the nature of projects entrusted. Must hold a P.Eng. Experience: Minimum of 5 years recognized experience in the conduct and management of projects over $3M CAD.
