Refugee Resource provides psychological, social and practical support for refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants to help them heal from trauma and suffering and to build new lives as part of Oxfordshire's diverse community. The charity has secured sustainable multi-year support from a number of key grants makers but in order to evolve and develop services further they want to find someone with the ability to build, lead and continually strengthen their ability to secure financial support from the public, companies and corporate bodies, trusts, and grant makers across the UK.
The skills and experience we're looking for include:
Knowledge of the fundraising environment and a range of techniques for generating income.
Understanding of the charity sector and relevant legal and regulatory frameworks
Proven ability to build, manage and develop key stakeholder, client and donor relationships.
Some line management experience or a willingness to learn and develop these skills
Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
An initiative-taking, innovative, and strategic approach with problem-solving abilities
Empathy with refugees and asylum seekers, with a basic understanding of related issues. You must also have the willingness and ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. In return the charity offer a warm, inclusive and collaborative culture with a competitive pension scheme, employee assistance program, professional development & training, generous holiday allowance (25 days + bank holidays + Christmas closure) and sick pay.
This is a perfect opportunity for an experienced fundraiser who wants a chance to take that next step up. It would also suit a more experienced manager looking for a flexible role that still offers diversity and plenty of strategic responsibility.
