Job Responsibilities

(Internal Title: Project Management IV) 

  • Support the Corridor Lead in leading a major multi-disciplinary team of engineering managers, project manager/s, and deputy project manager/s, including other specialists as the rise occurs
  • Manage and oversee the entirety of projects valued between $300 - 400 million, ensuring successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
  • Safety leader across all project delivery works
  • A proactive approach to engaging with the various Project Delivery Teams (PDTs) 
  • Must understand key performance indicator monitoring and engagement, directly linked to monthly measurement criteria established
  • Must understand resource management, interface, and constraints management
  • Able to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome
  • Must be capable of supporting the Project Controls Centre and team to maintain up-to-date metrics on performance across the entire program
  • Recommends and initiates change to project delivery plans, and identifies areas of improvement to put forward to relevant areas in business and operating processes 
  • Interacts with clients and other stakeholders to ensure that objectives are being met
  • Manages external relationships important for project delivery (e.g., statutory authorities)
  • Builds and maintains networks with peer project teams and other disciplines
  • Supports the development and delivery of implementation plans, establishing commercially beneficial delivery models and leading on innovation & best practice
  • Supports leadership and direction in the Construction & Project Delivery team, delivers timely feedback to ensure a cohesive operational unit and the optimum use of team skills
  • Lead by example to inspire the team within the program team 
  • Monitors work assignments for adherence to timelines and compliance with policies and processes 
  • Develop and implement action plans to address performance gaps 
  • Leads high-performing, multi-disciplined teams 
  • The ability to lead, engage, motivate, and coach others. To act as a role model and inspire and empower others
  • Support negotiations with third parties 
  • Articulate a delivery vision and common culture 
  • Create the environment for the successful implementation of processes 
  • Creating and delivering persuasive and engaging presentations to a wide range of audiences in our industry 
  • Leads and strategizes collaboration model internally and externally 
  • Respectfully listens to others and considers all views presented
Qualifications Required

Education:

  • Undergraduate Degree in pertinent field

Licenses or Certifications:

Experience:

  • 12+ years of experience in project management

Skills and Competencies:

  • Sound project management expertise 
  • Sound knowledge of contract & commercial procedures 
  • Stays up to date with key industry/professional trends through networking and Continued Professional Development (CPD)
  • Knowledge of BIM and ability to give advice to clients and articulate BIM strategy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Good problem-solving skills 
  • Proficiency in project management software
  • Continue professional development in order to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices
  • Highly organized and able to multitask
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Extensive understanding of prevailing project management methods
