A company vehicle is available for use; however, applicants must meet the insurance company’s eligibilityThe successful applicant will be subject to a criminal record check and employment verification.Operations:The Food Store Manager will be responsible for the overall safe, effective operations of the Food Store. The successful candidate will work with Managers and Team Leaders to identify areas for improvement and follow up on execution. Ensure facilities adhere to or exceed Brand Standards and expectations. Identify deficiencies and provide recommendations/action plans as required. Work closely with other departments (i.e., HR/Asset Protection/Marketing) to achieve results and meet required expectations pertaining to the operations in these areas.Follow up with Department Managers, Team Leaders, and Team Members to help them understand and adhere to Westview Co-op’s Brand Image and Best Practices for the respective departments on a consistent basis. This position works closely with the team to identify areas for improvement and find ways to improve operational results with a strategic focus to ensure long-term sustainability of the operations. Understanding, adherence to, and execution, as well as responsibility for Managers, Team Leaders, and Team Members in the respective operation, of Westview Co-op’s Policies and Procedures is required.This position is responsible for all aspects of the operation and financial results including sales, margins, expenses, inventory, and SPEH of assigned Food and Gas Bar departments. Review financial statements and provide coaching/guidance for Team Leaders to identify strengths and areas for improvements. Work with respective Managers and Team Leaders to develop action plans and follow up as required. Assist in the preparation of the annual Retail Strategic Plan and the annual budget. Administrative duties including claims, invoices, and all other paperwork are done timely, accurately, and meet agreed-upon timelines.This position is responsible for the overall Health and Safety of all Team Members. Leadership by example in working safely, prompt coaching of unsafe behaviors as well as recognition for Team Members working in a safe manner.The ideal candidate would have a minimum of five to ten years of progressive, successful, related retail management experience. Post-secondary education in business or a related field would be an asset. A valid Alberta Driver’s License is required for travel to a variety of retail locations in Central Alberta and some out-of-province travel.
