Backend Software Developer - NodeJS

Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity The Backend NodeJS Developer will design, develop, implement and support the backend software components. You will work with technical lead, developers, QA specialists, DevOps and product owner in an agile manner to create quality, backend components. You will work with Software Development leadership team to help make architectural recommendations/decisions on various software platforms. Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a hybrid model. Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager Software Development and Architecture. Your Moneris Career - What you'll do Design, development, unit testing, implementation and support of NodeJS-based backend components dealing with large volumes of sensitive data in a real-time environment. Assume end-to-end ownership of backend platform components. Creation, maintenance and support of secure, high quality, and code components. Collaborating with other developers, QA specialists, subject matter experts and other team members to integrate components and implement/support a functional solution in an Agile environment. Create tickets in Jira with detailed technical requirements and follow SDLC processes. Mentor/lead less experienced developers ensuring all necessary work is completed to a high quality including performing code reviews. Create/maintain documentation on complex information using data flow diagram. Ongoing proof of concepts of new technologies and design patterns with an eye to helping make architectural decisions for software platforms. Contribute to sprint planning and other Agile ceremonies. Your Moneris Career - What you bring 2+ years of experience developing production scale applications in NodeJS . Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience. Demonstratable experience using NodeJS as a backend server to server APIs. Familiarity with persistent socket connection using the NodeJS net library. Previous experience in refactoring and migrating backend components to Azure. Experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Redis, Kubernetes, Docker, Git and Jira. Experience working in Agile environment.
