Job Title: Site Engineer Location: Colchester Sector: Highways Role Overview: We are seeking a Site Engineer to assist with setting-out and ensuring quality on a key highways project in the Essex area. Key responsibilities include: Key Responsibilities: Provide engineering duties for the section, including establishing level and survey control. Manage sections of work and specific subcontractor packages. Liaise with client representatives and designers on design changes. Verify and record delivered materials, ensuring compliance with specifications. Conduct quality checks in line with inspection and test plans. Maintain calibration documents and check registers for instruments. Record as-built conditions of completed works. Assist in drafting method statements, task briefings, and inspection plans. Ensure personal and team safety, adhering to business management systems.Requirements: Experience: Previous work on infrastructure or civil projects, including earthworks, highways, drainage, or utilities. Skills: Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with a structured site team. Qualifications: HNC/Degree in Construction/Civil Engineering or equivalent. Experience in setting out and managing daily activities. CSCS Card. Cable avoidance training (desirable).
