We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Engineering to lead our engineering team within the nuclear industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. This role is crucial in driving engineering excellence and innovation within our nuclear facilities. Key Responsibilities Strategic Engineering Leadership Develop and implement an engineering strategy that aligns with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Lead and inspire the engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Project Oversight Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects within the nuclear facilities. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Regulatory Compliance Ensure all engineering activities comply with national and international nuclear safety regulations and standards. Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage inspections, audits, and reporting requirements. Technical Expertise and Innovation Provide technical leadership and expertise in the design, development, and implementation of nuclear systems and components. Promote and drive innovation in engineering practices and technologies. Risk Management Identify potential engineering risks and develop mitigation strategies. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize risks. Resource Management Allocate and manage engineering resources effectively to optimize project performance and operational efficiency. Develop and manage budgets for engineering projects and operations. Quality Assurance Ensure all engineering work adheres to the highest quality standards and best practices. Implement quality control processes and conduct regular reviews and audits. Training and Development Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the engineering team. Ensure continuous professional development and education on regulatory changes and industry advancements. Stakeholder Communication Engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and senior management. Provide regular updates on engineering activities, project progress, and performance metrics. Team Leadership Lead and manage the engineering team, providing direction, support, and development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, or related field). A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer (CEng), Professional Engineer (PE)) is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the nuclear industry or a similarly regulated environment. Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and regulations in the nuclear industry. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure. Additional Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
