Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Project Manager (Water Non-Infra) on a Permanent basis, located in Birmingham (Hybrid working – Mon/Tue/Thurs office based – Wed/Fri WFH) Purpose The management of projects to meet contractual obligations, project milestones and deadlines and budget and gross margin expectations. Coordination with the resources working on the allocated project, including LDC, Commercial, Construction, and Commissioning. Main Duties & Responsibilities • All financial aspects of the project to ensure the required profit levels are achieved. • To manage all phases of the project from the award of the contract through to eventual client acceptance. The Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of design, procurement, construction and commissioning. • The direction and performance management of all project resources allocated to projects being managed including vendors and sub-contractors. • Ensure compliance to contract through effective project management techniques and delegated responsibility to other Project Managers and Project Engineers. • Plan and agree the resources to be allocated to projects with appropriate functional and discipline managers. • To regulate, negotiate and approve variations to contract in association with the client and internal departments. • To effect project planning, review, cost control, change control, hand-over and acceptance procedures to meet the terms of the contract. • To manage and ensure effective two-way communication within the project management team, and between vendors, sub-contractors and the client. This should include formal project meetings where key project milestones are achieved. • Authorise the placement of order and ensure that applications for payment are correctly administered. • Through other Project Managers, Lead Design Coordinators, and Site Managers, ensure the cost-effective management of resources and delegation of key responsibilities. • Ensure adherence to company procedures, engineering standards, functional specifications, and management controls, including all SHEQ procedures. • To arrange the production of the Project Delivery Plan, identifying all environmental aspects and impacts and mitigation methods and all Health and Safety risks and hazards together with mitigation, with advice as necessary from the SHEQ department, and to provide assistance to the Site Manager in maintaining the Plan. • To comply with all Health and Safety responsibilities commensurate with the role, as outlined in the Health and Safety policy (freely accessible via the system or hard copy from SHEQ department). • To comply with all Environmental responsibilities commensurate with the role, as outlined in the Environmental Management System and the job impacts list. • Any other duties commensurate with the position as may be assigned from time to time. Qualifications/Skills • A formal recognised qualification in a relevant engineering/construction discipline (degree or equivalent preferred) • Association of Project Management (APM) or other recognised project management qualification • SMSTS Knowledge and experience • Experience of 5+ years in same or similar role within the water/wastewater industry or other relevant sector • Demonstrable working knowledge of contract conditions (NEC/IChemE), CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme & Risk Management and Project/Cost Control. • Proven ability to manage and deliver a successful project with minimal guidance • Ability to use a wide range of IT packages including Microsoft Office • Personal Qualities • Excellent people/team management skills • Strong interpersonal and relationship building Skills • Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively • Strong communication skills, both written and oral Benefits It is 36 hours a week and is Mon/Tue/Thurs office based and Wed/Fri WFH. · Flexible working hours · Comp car/car allowance · Bonus scheme yearly and can reach a maximum of 5% of salary dependant on performance and business KPI’s · 24 days holiday increasing to 27 days max after 5 years plus 8 bank holidays · Holiday Trade Scheme – option to sell/buy an additional 5 days · Pension – employee pays 5% company pays 8% (increases to 10% after 5 years) · Private healthcare - for all employees · Life Assurance – 6x salary (when join pension scheme) · Perkbox benefits – discounts on major brands and monthly vouchers given by the company · Discounted membership at Nuffield Health gyms · Long Service Award Scheme Our Company Rubicon Consulting is a Talent management consultancy which helps you to optimise business performance and competitive advantage by choosing the right people first time
