Extension of contract is subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance.As the only specialized organization with the mandate to support educational policy, planning and management, the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) plays a unique role within the United Nations system. It supports ministries of education around the world and other key actors to plan and manage education systems through its programmes of training, technical assistance, policy research and knowledge sharing. Under the overall authority of the Director, and the direct supervision of the KMM Team Leader, and within the framework of the Institute’s Medium-Term Strategy, the Webmaster will ensure the strong development and management of the Institute’s digital environment in close collaboration with IIEP regional offices, including the institutional global website, and IIEP’s single sign-on function, MyIIEP. He/she will also provide strategic support to the development of IIEP’s online thematic portals and community of practice.DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIESManage the maintenance, development, and updates of IIEP’s global website, in collaboration with the KMM team and the webmasters/communications officers in Dakar and Buenos Aires. Assure the technical maintenance of IIEP’s general website in close collaboration with the UNESCO Headquarters’ web team and the Information Technology (IT) team. Identify and implement actions to optimize the design, user experience, and performance on IIEP’s global website, including through MyIIEP.Provide strategic support to the development of IIEP’s online thematic portals. Propose actions to optimize the user experience and performance on IIEP’s online thematic portals, in close collaboration with IIEP portal managers and programme specialists. Detect opportunities to enhance the user experience in the portals and put forward concrete actions to make improvements. Help promote the visibility of IIEP’s thematic portals, including via the global website. Collaborate with portal coordinators in the selection and tracking of performance indicators.Support the design and development of a community of practice targeting educational planners and managers. Propose digital solutions to host the community of practice. Support the implementation of the chosen digital solutions. Suggest useful digital modalities and tools to support the animation of the community of practice, particularly those readily available in IIEP’s institutional website and thematic portals.Collect, systematize, and analyze information on IIEP’s primary target audiences. Develop market research to enrich IIEP’s current knowledge on its audiences. Design qualitative and quantitative tools for data collection on IIEP’s primary audiences. Conduct the research, in collaboration with expert advisors, and record and summarize key results and insights on a continuous basis and to support KPI data collection.Support and advise institutional communications and the organisation of online events. Support the conceptualization and implementation of digital storytelling projects using the functionalities offered by the UNESCO web galaxy. Support and advise the design of digital and print communication materials (e.g. brochures, templates) and also of some institutional reports.Explore ongoing evolutions and new tools related to digital environments. Help build internal capacities to cope with such evolutions.
