We work as one development team: supporting each other to secure delivery according to the decided product plan, and we proactively recommend new technologies for future customer needs. We are looking for a Director for the Complete Powertrain department within Powertrain Engineering France.

Your mission and responsibility? As Complete Powertrain Director, your mission is to manage and drive the development of complete products for the Medium Duty Platform, conventional axles, and electrical axles for the full Volvo Trucks platform. You will develop a true collaboration with other Complete Powertrain teams within the PE global organization with the ambition to develop common tools and methods but also share some engineering developments.

You will lead an experienced team of approximately 65 employees and be an important member of the Powertrain Engineering France leadership team. You will report to the Vice-President Powertrain Engineering France. Your mission:

  • Drive & manage engineering & cross-functional projects (Medium duty engine & transmission, conventional & electrical axles)
  • Maintain and improve the quality of serial products under your responsibility
  • Develop & manage Verification & Validation plan for all complete products
  • Drive the optimization of complete products by developing efficient software & design solutions
  • Drive development of Data as a product and overall GSP simulation
  • Manage key partnerships
  • Innovate by developing new methodologies, ways of working, and simulations to improve our performance, quality, and development lead-time
  • Drive the teams according to sustainable objectives (CO2 reductions, recycled and sustainable components & systems)
  • Deploy and deliver a competence & resource workforce plan to develop a high-performing team in line with the technology shift

  • Master's degree in science or equivalent
  • Thorough knowledge of Propulsion solutions
  • Proven leadership experience within the automotive industry (leading leaders)
  • Strong business mindset & customer focus
  • Cross-functional knowledge
