Success Centre Teacher

Pythagoras Academy is currently seeking an experienced Success Centre Teacher starting August 28th, 2024.Job Description Pythagoras Academy is an exceptional co-educational independent school for students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. We believe in encouraging creativity in our students and consider it to be one of the most valuable and transferable core skills.Contract: Full-time (1.0)Start Date: August 28th, 2024Duties and Responsibilities Plan and create student learning that incorporate BC Curriculums objectives, including STEM and design thinking; Assess student learning using formative and summative methods, incorporating feedback, student reflection and formal reporting, to grow and develop skills; Be the touchstone for parents, students and teachers; Personalize learning opportunities for students; Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the development of integrated lessons and units; Maintain appropriate standards of behaviour, mutual respect, and safety within the classroom; Incorporate appropriate technology use; Integrate social responsibility and kindness into daily teaching and routines;Position and Qualifications Possess or be in the application of a valid BC Teaching Certificate; Possess a Bachelors degree or higher qualification in education; Models a strong work ethic as well as high standards of commitment; Foster's school mission, values and sense of community through student-centered decisions; Effectively communicates with staff, parents and students; Maintains professionalism through all school interactions and activities; Experience writing and maintaining IEP's; Teaching social-emotional skills and creating friendship clubs; Working with gifted students to challenge their numeracy skills.As an educator, you embody these qualities: Passion : you deeply enjoy the craft of educating, your focus is on inspiring your students.
