Education & Qualifications Requirements:
Education:
- University degrees in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, or chemistry.
- Master’s degree in chemical engineering or electrical engineering.
Work Experiences:
- Experience in environmental public policy in Comoros.
- Excellent writing and speaking skills, with the capacity to establish productive relationships with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the national context of Comoros and experience in environmental public policy.
- Experience in multi-stakeholder engagement and working with government authorities in Africa.
- Full knowledge in modeling GHG and air pollution mitigation measures with different software, including LEAP IBC.
- Experience in NDC and national communications development and revision.
- Good knowledge of GHG dynamics, short-lived climate pollutants, climate change, and air pollution issues in Comoros.
Languages:
- Fluency in both English and French is required (both oral and written).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive methane roadmap following the CCAC Methane Roadmap Template.
- Coordinate the preparation of National Methane Roadmap findings for presentation to the Government of Comoros.
- Support the implementation of several environmental planning projects.
- Advise and work with the qualified team to analyze and collect climate projects.
- Develop analytical and diagnostic maps, drawings, graphics, and related reports.
- Conduct critical analysis of existing planning documents and instruments with CCAC support.
- Develop training materials for CCAC, remote sensing, and data analysis.
- Organize participatory, multi-stakeholder processes.
- Provide technical recommendations for environmental documents and publications.
