We are seeking a Senior Pension Administrator to join our BPA team in Mississauga, ON. The Senior Pension Administrator works in a team environment and is responsible for the ongoing administration of their client’s pension plans in compliance with plan rules, legislative requirements, and internal practices. As a senior member of the team, this includes peer review, data analysis, and the development of process improvements to ensure accuracy and gain efficiencies. The Senior Pension Administrator will: Communicate and coordinate with members, employers, union representatives, actuaries, auditors, custodians, and any other third-party representative regarding benefit entitlements, data, administration procedures, and interpretations of plan provisions. Maintain up-to-date records for members and client. Determine entitlements on death, disability, retirement, termination, and marriage breakdown in accordance with specific Plan provisions, government legislation requirements, and current service standards. Authorize payment of benefit entitlements and plan expenses from Custodian. Peer review of pension calculation, authorizations, and other documents prepared by more junior members of the team. Participate in year-end activities, including data updates, validations, reconciliations, annual pension statements, and actuarial valuation data. Perform reconciliation of monthly contributions postings and reports. Prepare and file government forms including Annual Information Returns, PAs, PARs, etc., as applicable. Participate in ad-hoc projects such as pensioner audits and data cleanups. Organize workload to ensure client and regulatory deadlines are met. Identify process improvements and work with the team to implement new procedures. Mentor junior members of the team. Attend client meetings, as applicable. To be successful as a Senior Pension Administrator with BPA, you will need: Excellent and proven organization skills. Excellent attention to detail. Strong mathematical and analytical abilities. Strong communication skills, written and oral. Excellent work ethic and accountability. Good understanding of actuarial concepts related to pension administration. Good understanding of legislative requirements related to pension administration. All-star candidates will have: Good understanding of legislative requirements related to pension administration (ITA, PBA, Family Law, PIPEDA). Intermediate to Expert MS Excel skills (formatting, build/interpret pension calculators, data analysis functions). Intermediate to Expert MS Word skills (formatting, word merge, and conditional wording). High School Graduation Diploma, Bachelor’s degree in business or mathematics preferred. 2+ years of pension administration/analyst experience.
