Position Summary
As an Environmental Coordinator at CBN, you will be joining a dynamic, close-knit team tasked with managing CBN's environmental program for its Ottawa locations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, maintaining our ISO 14001 certification, and helping CBN achieve our sustainability goals.

What You Will Do
Environmental Management
Maintain the environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 standard.
Track and trend data for a variety of environmental parameters.
Assist with the preparation and presentation of environmental performance reports to senior management.
Environmental Compliance
Ensure compliance with municipal, provincial and federal environmental regulations.
Assist production departments in maintaining compliance.
Work closely with external subject matter experts.
Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies as required.
Maintain environmental records in key areas such as Air, Noise, Waste, Water, Energy.
Monitor and sample operations and/or emissions.
Waste Management
Monitor and manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams to ensure proper handling and disposal.
Design and implement waste reduction, recycling, and disposal programs.
Engage with employees on waste streams, initiatives, and trends.
Organize and oversee the annual waste audit.
Sustainability
Assist with the implementation of sustainability initiatives including data management, carbon footprint calculations and program rollout.
Engage with stakeholders to promote environmental awareness and responsibility.

Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Environment Science/Engineering (or related field) or an equivalent combination of education and years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge and understanding of ISO 14001 standards and certification process.
Knowledge of air and noise emission management, waste management, energy conservation, sustainability strategy implementation.
Awareness of Federal and Provincial environmental regulations pertaining to air, noise, soil, water, and waste.
Up to 5 years of relevant experience.

Mandatory Requirements
Fluency in English.
