Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children with communication difficulties? We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Childrens Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience supporting children with a range of needs and will be proficient in Makaton to aid communication. Key Responsibilities: · Provide high-quality, person-centered care to children with varying needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and emotional development. · Use Makaton to support childrens communication, helping them express their needs, wants, and feelings. · Develop positive, trusting relationships with children, parents, and carers. · Assist in the planning and delivery of activities that promote social and emotional wellbeing · Work closely with other professionals (such as speech and language therapists) to support the child's learning and development goals. · Maintain accurate records and reports in line with organizational policies. Essential Requirements: · Experience with Makaton and a strong ability to use it in day-to-day communication. · A Minimum of 1 years UK experience working with children and young people within a residential or school setting · Must have an enhanced adult and child DBS that is registered on the update service or will be willing to process a new one with Prospero · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · A caring, patient, and empathetic nature. · Ability to work flexibly as part of a team or independently. · Must be able to provide 3 years professional references · If you are passionate about helping children reach their full potential and have the skills and experience to make a difference, we would love to hear from you!
