Position Overview Kiewit Energy Canada is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. We are a major industrial contractor that work on projects that involve construction of oil & gas facilities.
Location We are open to hiring individuals out of Calgary, AB and Edmonton, AB. The ability to both travel and relocate as needed is required for this role.
Responsibilities Develop complete understanding of contract plans and specifications.
Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures.
Inspect subordinates’ work for compliance with contract plans and specifications.
Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software.
Manage document control; receive and log in new issue drawings and other contract documents.
Review new issue drawings and contract documents for change of conditions.
Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow projections.
Improve project operations by recommending better methods, staffing, and procedural changes.
Act as managing project engineer/coordinator on multiple projects, providing supervision and on-the-job training for lower-level engineers.
Manage and support project team including direct reports and others as needed.
Drive the company environmental health and safety programs at the project level.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience.
Professional Engineer designation strongly preferred.
5+ years experience in construction or engineering field.
Must have a demonstrated willingness to relocate and travel as needed.
Energy project experience is required.
Proven abilities in leadership, communication, planning, organization, delegation, teaching, and mentoring.
Working knowledge of management systems: accounts payable/accounts receivable, materials control, estimating, job cost updates, and subcontracts.

Work during normal operating hours, with overtime and weekends as required.
