This is an exciting opportunity to join a diverse portfolio within children’s and adolescent addiction and mental health. Reporting to the manager or designate, this position will aid youth including working on social, physical and emotional wellbeing while fostering self-determination and independence. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Mental Health Aide, you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team to provide a welcoming and safe care environment. You will assist in the provision of direct patient/client care as delegated in a person-centered, recovery oriented and safe manner. In this position, you will assist and / or promote independence to patients/clients in completing activities of daily living as well as assisting other health professionals with providing treatments and observing and reporting relevant patient/client information to professional staff. You will assist new patients/clients and families with orientation, and assist in the general support of the work area.
Completion of Grade 12. A combination of education and experience satisfactory to the employer will also be considered.
Completion of healthcare aide or mental health aide certificate or equivalent and two years’ experience with mental health and addiction.
