A4K is recruiting for a dynamic, passionate, experienced Executive Director to successfully lead our small but impactful charity through a period of significant growth and into the future. Description About A4K At Athletics4Kids we believe that every child should have the chance to play. Across BC, hundreds of children and youth are denied the opportunity to participate in amateur sports due to one simple fact: lack of funds. Through our Sport4Life Grant Program, we ensure that kids between the ages of 5-18 can play and participate in sports. Whether that's swimming lessons at the rec center, community lacrosse, or joining a gymnastics club, we provide financial assistance to help low-income families cover registration fees for over 55 non-school-based amateur sports. What we Offer You A4K offers a close-knit team dynamic and deeply meaningful work that creates significant social impact throughout our Province. We operate from brand new, co-shared office space in beautiful lower Lonsdale overlooking Vancouver Harbour. Our team of 2 full-time, and 1-2 rotating part-time interns, work on a flexible hybrid schedule. Through regular fundraising events we are involved with, we offer many opportunities for our team to be out in the community engaging with donors, supporters and the families we serve. You are passionate about kids and helping those in need You want to make a difference in the lives of others You like working in a small, fast-paced, dynamic organization You are looking to work in an organization with growth potential You understand the significant life skills kids gain from participating in sport About the Role A dynamic and passionate Executive Director is essential to A4K delivering on its mission. You will report to a volunteer Board of Directors and have a broad scope of responsibilities that encompasses overseeing effective delivery of our Sport4Life Grant Program, managing the day-to-day operations, owning the development of sustainable new revenue, and stewarding existing donor relationships. You will be the face of A4K at major events, with major donors, and in the media. You will advocate for our cause and help bring continued awareness to the growing need we serve. What you will do Leadership Develop a strong and collaborative relationship with the Board of Directors Act as a professional advisor to the Board on all aspect of the organization and its activities Work with Board to implement, and monitor strategic plans Represent A4K at community events, fundraisers, with donors and in the media Effectively direct activities and resources ensuring we focus on priorities aligned to our goals Manage, recruit and train staff/interns and conduct quarterly performance evaluations for staff Provide a safe and inclusive work/volunteer environment Establish regular reporting processes with Board President and attend all Board meetings Support preparations and reporting for Annual General Meeting Program Delivery and Administration Ensure efficient delivery of our Sport4Life Grants through daily/weekly/monthly monitoring of KPI’s Monitor and report on monthly Sport4Life Grant actuals to budget along with breakdown of Grant activity (Average grant size, sport type, region) Regularly review grant ceiling levels, program funding requirements and make recommendations to the eligibility committee around proposed changes Handle escalations with families who may be experiencing challenges with our application/approval process Review our annual income threshold and propose changes as necessary Manage, execute or oversee banking, payroll, bookkeeping, government remittances, insurance, licenses, and all other requirements as needed to support the ongoing operations Fundraising and Donor Stewarding Develop a multi-year fundraising diversification plan by analyzing existing fundraising and identifying new sources, including major gifts Build, strengthen, and steward relationships with current and potential donors Work with 3rd party consultants to execute fundraising campaigns Develop strategic partnerships with community or other charitable organizations Actively work on, or oversee, the submission of grant applications to access federal, provincial, municipal, or foundation funding Marketing and Community Engagement Promote A4K and act as primary spokesperson Manage projects and build relationships with stakeholders Recruit and manage volunteers for community events Collaborate with marketing consultants to ensure successful execution of our campaigns and events Your Qualifications 3 – 5 Years as an Executive Director of a Non-Profit or equivalent A persuasive and passionate leader with exceptional interpersonal skills that include excellent written, verbal and presentation communications skills Excellent planning, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills Presentation and influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders Volunteer management and event planning experience Ability to work independently and as part of a team Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a volunteer board of directors Experience with budgeting and P&L management; QuickBooks knowledge is an asset Strong computer skills and excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, social media mediums and communications software; experience with Keela CRM an asset Passion for youth development through sports Role Type: Full-time Overtime: Some evenings and weekends required to support events #J-18808-Ljbffr
