Senior Manager, Software Development

*Open to remote candidates residing in the United States and Canada* As the Senior Manager of Software Development, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving the software development process from conception to deployment. Your role will involve managing a team of talented software engineers, coordinating cross-functional collaborations, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software products. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s technological vision and driving the execution of software development strategies. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions Lead and manage multiple teams of software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster professional growth and high performance. Develop and implement software development strategies, goals, and initiatives in alignment with the company’s overall objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, designers, and other cross-functional teams, to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables. Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to industry best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes. Drive the execution of projects, including planning, resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management to ensure timely and successful delivery. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the software development team. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and industry developments, and provide guidance on their potential impact and application within the organization. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs to enhance team productivity and effectiveness. Collaborate with the recruitment team to attract, hire, and retain top software engineering talent, ensuring a diverse and inclusive work environment. Minimum Skills and Qualifications 5+ years leading software development teams, projects, or similar. 6+ years’ experience in Software Development. Solid understanding of software development methodologies, Agile principles, and DevOps practices. Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve high-quality results. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Preferred Skills and Qualifications Advanced knowledge of object-oriented development. Understanding of cloud-based platforms to identify possible opportunities for usage. Knowledge of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software development. Advanced knowledge of SQL databases. Advanced knowledge of .NET or similar web application technology.
