Gottfried-Wilhelm-Leibniz-Universität Hannover - Logo Gottfried-Wilhelm-Leibniz-Universität Hannover - Header The Institute of Health Economics (IHE) has the following vacancy starting 1 January 2025: Senior Research Associate (m/f/d) in Health Economics and Development Economics (Salary Scale A13 NBes O, 100 %) The position with temporary civil servant status is initially limited to three years, with the possibility of extension.

Your role The successful candidate conducts research and engages in teaching related to health economics and/or development.

The work will further include the implementation of empirical studies, in particular large-scale randomized field experiments in the context of investment projects of international organizations.

The IHE has extensive experience in conducting research on World Bank operations.

Activities aimed at strengthening the link between the proposed research and international organization operations can include, for example, research stay(s) at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Who are we looking for? Candidates must have completed a Ph.

D.

in Economics or a related discipline.

Sound thinking based on economic theory, advanced skills in empirical economic methods, and proficiency in English are required.

A strong »Job Market Paper« is expected that documents the capability to publish research in highly rated academic journals.

Excellent candidates have a research focus in health economics and/or development economics and outstanding social, personal, as well as communication skills.

They possess the ability to reliably execute tasks with independence, a flexible work style, and demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to lead projects.

Very good knowledge of German is an advantage.

Experience in the acquisition and execution of third-party-funded projects would be appreciated.
