**Leading Financial Excellence in Education**

We are seeking a visionary Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team at Academics Ltd and drive the financial sustainability and success of our primary school.

As a strategic financial leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the school's financial health and compliance with all statutory requirements. You will provide strategic financial guidance, oversee the budget, and lead the finance team to deliver excellent financial management.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement the school's financial strategy, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth.
  • Manage the school's budget, forecasting, and financial reporting, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to the Headteacher and Governors, ensuring alignment with the school's mission and vision.
  • Lead the financial management of capital projects and funding opportunities, identifying and securing new revenue streams.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and audit requirements, maintaining the highest standards of financial governance.
  • Lead the finance team, promoting a culture of efficiency, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor cash flow, investments, and the school's financial risk, making informed decisions to mitigate potential threats.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial resources support school priorities and improvement plans, driving educational excellence.

**Requirements of a CFO:**

  • Proven experience in financial leadership, preferably within the education or public sector.
  • Strong understanding of school finance systems, budgeting, and financial planning, with a focus on strategic decision-making.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent), demonstrating expertise in financial management and leadership.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance staff.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to influence decision-making at a senior level, driving financial excellence and educational success.
  • Commitment to the values and ethos of education and safeguarding, prioritizing the well-being of students and staff.
