For Canada (based on the South Shore of Montreal)The National Director oversees the activities of the team dedicated to product management, in charge of developing and maintaining the various ranges. In collaboration with the main market managers, this role involves creating strategies aligned with market needs to drive sales growth. These strategies will then be presented to the Vice President of Product Management and General Management for approval before implementation.Responsibilities include managing the product team, analyzing market studies, reviewing financial analyses carried out by the team, negotiating with suppliers, approving communications related to product development and monitoring sales performance in collaboration with the sales teams. This position also requires regular interactions with regional management.Main ResponsibilitiesPortfolio management: Ensure the performance of managed portfolios, by supervising supplier and product strategies to maximize financial results. Conduct periodic product category reviews with the Pricing department and identify underperforming categories.Sales Development: Partner with Market Managers to develop growth strategies, including line extensions and promotional programs to drive sales growth.Vendor Relations: Manage vendor relationships in accordance with company policies. Oversee vendor program negotiations, review and approve agreements, and ensure robust contracts are in place. Ensure service level agreement is defined and results are measured and acted upon.Merchandising: Work with Market Managers to ensure an effective merchandising strategy. Prepare information and training materials for regions, manage inventory for distribution centers, corporate stores, associate members, and ensure sales targets are met.Leadership: Lead a team of 10 (Senior Market Managers, Product Managers, Coordinators) by providing clear guidance and direction. Provide strong leadership, guidance and communicate clear direction to senior market managers. Act as an influencer within the division to ensure the successful execution of product strategies. Ensure effective communication with internal teams and organize regular meetings to share progress on key projects.Requirements to Succeed in this Strategic RoleEducation: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business administration or marketing, with significant experience in strategic development.Experience: 10 years of relevant experience is required, demonstrating expertise in product, banner, store network, multi-site management across Canada. At least 5 years in professional team management.Computer Skills: Good command of computer tools, including Microsoft Office suite.Language Skills: Excellent command of French and English is required to handle national responsibilities.Personal Skills: Ability to think strategically, autonomy, judgment, detail orientation, communication skills (written and oral), effective presentation, financial understanding, ability to delegate, high performance standards, and a strong determination to succeed are essential.Our client offers you the opportunity to take the reins of a division crucial to the success and achievement of the objectives of this Pan-Canadian company, leader in its sector!
