Fire Alarm Service Engineer

Our client specialises in the design, installation, maintenance, and monitoring of fire alarm systems. They are currently seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join their team. Job Summary: As an Experienced Fire Alarm Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of fire alarm systems across various client sites throughout Milton Keynes & Surrounding counties. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring that our clients' fire detection and notification systems are fully operational and compliant with industry regulations and standards. You will work closely with our clients, providing professional and efficient service while maintaining a strong focus on quality and safety. Responsibilities: Install, service, and maintain fire alarm systems in accordance with industry regulations, British Standards (BS 5839), and manufacturer guidelines. Conduct regular inspections and tests of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal functionality and compliance. Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues with fire alarm systems, implementing effective solutions in a timely manner. Carry out routine preventive maintenance and repairs on fire alarm equipment and devices. Provide technical support to clients, offering guidance on system operations and addressing any questions or concerns. Collaborate with project teams to design and implement fire alarm system installations, considering client requirements and building codes. Keep accurate records of work performed, including service reports, maintenance logs, and inventory management. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in fire alarm technology, industry best practices, and relevant regulations. Adhere to health and safety guidelines and promote a culture of safety within the organization and on client sites. Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer, preferably within the United Kingdom. Extensive knowledge of fire alarm systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of relevant regulations and standards, such as BS 5839, EN 54, and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals related to fire alarm systems. Experience working with a variety of fire alarm control panels and devices from different manufacturers. Relevant industry certifications, such as FIA Units 1, 4, and 5, or equivalent qualifications, are highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues. A valid UK driving license is required.
