Role Overview: Our client is a tier 1 company who has a very exciting project coming up in Cheshire. The Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing civil engineering projects related to infrastructure and drainage works. This includes ensuring that all activities comply with safety standards, project specifications and are completed within the designated timeframes and budget. The role requires close collaboration with project teams, subcontractors and suppliers. Key Responsibilities: Setting Out and Surveying: Accurately set out construction works in accordance with drawings, specifications, and site plans. Conduct surveys and ensure that all levels are accurately recorded and maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Utilize total stations, GPS, and other surveying instruments effectively. Technical and Quality Control: Interpret and work from engineering drawings and specifications. Ensure that all works meet the required standards and specifications. Conduct quality checks and prepare necessary documentation (e.g., quality assurance plans, method statements). Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations. Participate in safety briefings and toolbox talks. Monitor environmental impact and ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation. Project Management Support: Assist the Project Manager in planning and scheduling construction activities. Provide technical advice and resolve on-site issues. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all site activities, including daily diaries, progress reports, and as-built drawings. Prepare and submit regular reports on project progress, delays, and any issues encountered. Ensure that all necessary permits and approvals are obtained before commencing work. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, particularly related to infrastructure and drainage. Proficiency in setting out using modern surveying instruments. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Qualifications & Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on infrastructure and drainage. Experience with relevant software. CSCS card and other relevant safety certifications. Valid clean UK driving license. Working Conditions: Full-time position with site-based work. May require travel to multiple sites within the UK. Occasional weekend or night work depending on project requirements. Salary & Benefits: £45,000 - £50,000 Per annum + Vehicle.
