To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience:

  • Minimum of (7) year or related work experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong attention to detail are essential
  • Experience with AutoCad, Solidworks and Mechanical design
  • Good understanding of fixtures (Project Related)
  • Experience using Automotive standard components (NAAMS)
  • Good understanding of design simulation
  • Experience in Automation industry
  • Experience using an ERP system
  • Strong communication skills with desire to take a new challenge and uncover practical solutions to technical problems.
  • Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement
  • Developing 3D models for custom machinery design
  • Knowledge of safety systems related to robotics cells and machinery safety design
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently or within a team environment prioritizing to meet specified milestone dates

Job Description:

  • Integrate automation system using proven hardware
  • Use Solidworks for design and standards updates
  • Use process simulates for simulation of cells
  • Use 3D scanning software to reverse engineer design and validate builds
  • On-site investigations to mechanical design requirements for both new equipment or modifications to existing equipment
  • Develop Solidworks revisions, toolbox, and CAD library for both purchased parts and manufactured parts

Experience & Education

  • A post- secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical, electrical, system or Robotic engineering
  • Automation experience required
  • 7 years mechanical Design
