CNC Programmer / Machinist

Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:00, Friday 07:30 – 15:00 (Overtime Available at 1.5X)

Ideal Recruit are currently looking for a CNC Programmer / Machinist on behalf of our client in the Wigan area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a privately owned, established company with an excellent track record of looking after and retaining their staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce small batches of high quality parts
- Programme, Set and Operate 3 axis machines with Heidenhain controls
- Read technical drawings and be self sufficient from start to finish
- Take pride and responsibility in your work
- Calibrating machines for precise measurements and ensuring that the machine settings match the specifications of the component.
- Diagnosing and fixing issues related to machine operation, tooling, and part quality.
- Work closely with Engineers and Toolmakers to manufacture high quality tools
- Adhering to workplace safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Ideally you will be a time served Engineer
- Strong Programming skills (CAD/CAM) – our client has facilities for offline Programming as well as on the machines
- Must be competent using Heidenhain controls
- Proven CNC Machining background
- Proficient in CNC Milling
- Must be a self sufficient engineer, who is passionate about their work
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and management
- Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
