Our client is a general contracting firm providing construction project management services, land development, and architectural consulting. The company was formed in 2010 to provide construction services in the Ottawa area and continue the relationships that have been developed over the past 30+ years. Their goal is to provide clients and construction partners with exceptional management services including budgeting, scheduling, communications, managing costs, and reducing risk on all our projects. The team is directly involved in all of the projects undertaken and is responsible for the day-to-day operations and success of the company. Their practical experience and background provide owners, consultants, and sub-trades with complete construction management services including control and quality. Our client has the background experience and ability to undertake projects from $50,000.00 to $25,000,000.00 . Job Overview: The Project Coordinator will support the Project Manager and project team in planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a deep understanding of construction processes and project management principles. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Coordination: Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.Coordinate project activities and resources to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to define project scope and objectives. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, schedules, budgets, and reports.Track and report project progress, identifying any issues or delays and proposing solutions.Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and stored appropriately. Communication and Client Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for project-related communications.Facilitate effective communication between project stakeholders, including clients, team members, and subcontractors.Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met. Quality Control and Compliance: Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and other relevant standards.Conduct site visits to oversee construction progress and quality.Assist in resolving any issues or disputes that arise during the construction process Financial Management: Assist in managing project budgets, including tracking expenses and processing invoices.Help in forecasting project costs and ensuring financial resources are used efficiently. Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.Assist in implementing and monitoring risk management plans. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in project coordination or a similar role within the construction industry. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and safety standards. Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, or similar). Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations. PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
