We currently have an exciting opportunity for a a Supervisor, Pharmacy Automation to join our Pharmacy Services Program team. This Position reports to the Manager(s) Pharmacy Services and to the Program Director, Pharmacy Services for Pharmacy Services performance metrics. Responsibilities: Evaluates processes and makes recommendations related to the human and material resources required for safe & efficient operation of pharmacy automated      equipment. Works in collaboration with the Pharmacy Manager(s) and Director to update policies and procedures and create efficiencies in the pharmacy to ensure      medication distribution operations meet with Hospital’s goals. Manages day to day processes that enable the delivery of high quality services to meet patient needs. Organizes and coordinates the daily operations and activities of pharmacy technician staff including performance evaluation, job descriptions, assignment of      duties, completing staff schedules, authorizing overtime, vacation and time-off requests, etc. in accordance with the current union collective agreements, where applicable. Maintains a staff and patient safety focus for the operation and systems related to the automated equipment. Responsible for the education related to the pharmacy automation. Work with internal and external resources to specify, develop and test software supporting automation. Investigates medication incidents involving automation and establishes and monitors quality control processes to avoid the issues in the future. Provides leadership and consultation to Pharmacy Technician staff in the development, implementation and evaluation of related projects and initiatives. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the Manager or Director. Requirements: Registration in good standing as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) required. Undergraduate degree in health administration or business management, or suitable combination of related relevant experience and post-secondary education. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy required. Knowledge and experience of Automated Dispensing Units, Packaging machines (i.e. PillPick or Boxpicker), and IV robotic preparation (i.e. RIVA), an asset Knowledge and experience in aseptic technique; CIVA experience an asset. Previous leadership experience required, preferable in a management/supervisor capacity. Experience with purchasing and inventory management, narcotic requirements, manufacturing an asset. Experience with writing policies and procedures for technicians an asset. Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills. Effective communicator with a strong customer service orientation. Demonstrated ability to promote and maintain effective working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team and other departments.  Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet department demands Proficient in MS Office and MEDITECH Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to travel between sites Interested applicants are required to submit an Application before the deadline.
