Together we deliver exceptional experiences to our over 2 million daily customers. ?We are looking for a highly motivated Building Operator to join our Operations team at Oceanic Plaza in Vancouver, BC. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and adjusting building equipment to ensure maximum efficiency. With a customer service focused mindset, you will also ensure all tenant and operation teams’ requests are completed in a timely manner. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for: Maintain and ensure proper operation of the electrical, mechanical, elevator, and fire/life/safety components of each property; Study and become familiar with the various items of equipment, and the methods required to use them properly, that are required in everyday activities. This to include building automation systems, fire / life safety systems, and any other building related equipment; Perform minor plumbing repairs, light bulb changes, battery replacements, installation of dispensers, patching and painting, power washing, garbage pickup, etc,; Manage various contractors working in the buildings; Complete all service requests in order of importance and update the requests at least daily or on completion of each order request; Assist with environmental assessments and reporting; Participate in corporate occupational health and safety program; Produce reports on the operation of facilities and maintenance activities as required; Recommend maintenance and capital improvements to improve facility operations or reduce energy consumption; Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs; Respond effectively to all emergencies both during regular working hours and after hours when on call; To succeed in this role, you have: A minimum of 5 years of technical and mechanical building operations experience in a high-rise office tower Extensive knowledge and experience operating HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical, BAS, FAS and Life Safety Systems in a Class A office/retail complex Building Environmental Systems (BES) Certification Class I is required. BOMI, SMT or SMA is preferred Skills in blueprint reading, as applied to technical areas Exceptional skills in communication, organization, customer service, interpersonal and time management The ability to work with minimal supervision 8hr shift work including Monday to Friday (to be confirmed) Must be able to lift 25lb Must be able to climb and safely use ladders Good communication skills and must be a team player The standard salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 per year . Base pay is determined by the market location and may fluctuate based on job-related expertise, skills, experience, and internal fairness. As part of our comprehensive rewards package, employees in this role may qualify for our competitive annual bonus program, pending eligibility requirements.
