The ideal candidate has a strong background in managing new business units or company divisions, focusing on international shipping for both B2B and B2C markets. We are looking for a proactive and collaborative leader to build a high-performing team that will oversee the growth of both existing and new business development for ShipSavvy. This individual will spearhead new initiatives and strategically position the company for future success. The role also includes managing staff and contractor relationships. This role is perfect for an entrepreneurial logistics professional seeking to drive innovation and grow their career as a leader.Key ResponsibilitiesPromotes organizational growth and profitability through building relationships with B2B and B2C customers.Develops and implements strategies meant to maximize sales and margins.Identifies opportunities, negotiates agreements, and monitors supplier relationships to meet profitability, margin, or return on investment goals.Drive Business Development efforts resulting in new revenue streams based on revenue targetsEnsuring revenue growth through sales, attracting new business/clients, and building strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders.Continually innovate and improve processes and evaluate and recommend strategies for achieving efficiencies and cost reductions.Develop relationships with prospective clients while maintaining existing client relationships.Work with the VP, Technology to innovate customer experience and overall logistics capabilities to drive business outcomes and overall competitiveness, including: Technical roadmap.Work with the development team to help define product requirements to drive new revenue and enable operational efficiencies.Support LogX Group’s departments and its customer-facing business lines and work in collaboration with the operations team, including warehousing, logistics, inventory management, fulfillment, and customer service.Accountable for Customer Relationship ManagementDrive Business Development efforts resulting in new revenue streams based on revenue targetsWork with the development team to help define product requirements to drive new revenue and enable operational efficiencies.Collaboration with content management and design teams for marketing materials and UX designsContinually innovate and improve processes and evaluate and recommend strategies for achieving efficiencies and cost reductions.In collaboration with Operations, ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery, building and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners.Develop and implement logistics strategies, plans, and annual budgets that are aligned with company strategies.Set strategic objectives for the business unit that align with company goals and ensure that planning initiatives are implemented to maximize strategic growth.Develop strategic KPIs, performance metrics, and targets that are consistent with company goals.Plan and monitor across all divisions and geographies to ensure they are carried out safely and productively.Deliver optimal external-facing customer service supported by a team of trained and skilled associates and through solid communication and coordination with different departments.Establish and manage relationships with key internal and external operations partners and other stakeholdersOther duties as assignedQualifications5+ years of experience in business development, preferably in the e-commerce or logistics industry.Deep experience in supply chain, distribution, 3rd party logistics, and inventory management - ideally across multiple Canadian and US hubs and potentially internationally.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Collaborates with other executive management team members to align departmental strategy or direction with the organization's overall goals.Fluency with in-process improvement best practices to drive optimal client experience and efficiencies.Experience with agile development methodologies and product management tools.Passion for e-commerce and logistics.Skills and competenciesStrong leadership skills and ability to influence others.Ability to drive strategic direction.A clear and solid understanding of the issues faced by the organization and the industry.Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environmentInnovative and out-of-the-box thinker, creativity, and originality.Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems.Demonstrated experience coordinating strategic planning initiatives.Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies.Ability to develop and mentor others.Experience with budget preparation and management.Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.Strong conflict resolution skills.Collaborative change agent and relationship builder.BenefitsCompetitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity for career growth and professional development.Collaborative and inclusive work environment.Flexible work hours and remote work options.If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for business development and a strong background in e-commerce and logistics, we would love to hear from you!We strive to embody values of respect, collaboration, and diversity and are committed to employment equity.
