The successful candidates will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing individuals with psychotic disorders. The psychiatrist will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to adults experiencing severe mental health issues, particularly those related to psychosis, such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and other related conditions. The role includes providing outpatient and inpatient care, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and offering ongoing support to patients and their families.
*Your key responsibilities will be to:*
* Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations, for individuals presenting with psychotic symptoms.
* Diagnose a wide range of psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder with psychotic features, and delusional disorder.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions.
* Monitor and adjust treatment plans as needed to optimize patient outcomes.
* Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring safe and effective use in treating psychosis.
* Monitor patients for side effects and adjust medications accordingly.
* Conduct regular follow-ups and crisis interventions as required.

* Valid GMC
* Right to work in the UK (note; we are unable to provide sponsorship)
* Minimum 6 months NHS experience
* Must have Section 12
* Specialist Registration for Adult Psychiatry preferred but not essential
