Software Quality Assurance Automation SpecialistSoftware Quality Assurance Automation SpecialistPermanent position | Full-Time | Montreal (QC)Work arrangement: HybridAre you a Software Quality Assurance Automation Specialist or would you like to become one?If your answer is yes, it’s your lucky day as we are looking for a dynamic and talented person to join our team!What will your role be?Reporting to Software & Firmware Quality Assurance Sr Manager, you will be responsible for participating in a team's efforts to perform QA automation on major software and firmware development projects.In this project, your main responsibilities will be:Test and automate API test cases using Java with TestNG and REST Assured, up to the hardware.Implement necessary changes in Jenkins declarative pipeline and associated PowerShell scripts.Create, modify, and utilize vSphere VMs to set up the appropriate testing environment.Understand product specifications to develop appropriate manual and automated test cases and acceptance test criteria to test API and UI controlling hardware devices.Actively participate in Agile daily stand-ups, Sprint Planning, and retrospective meetings.In uncovering defects, work with the development team to help determine root cause; responsible for follow-ups and updates of defects in Jira.Perform all other related duties.What qualifications are we looking for?Mandatory requirements:University degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.3 to 5 years’ experience in testing and automation of API calls up to the hardware, using Java.Ability to use a combination of manual, automated, and semi-automated test approaches to implement and execute test cases on hardware devices.Good Java object-oriented coding skills.Strong understanding of restful APIs – experience with API clients is a must (i.e. Postman, Swagger).Experience with TestNG, REST Assured, or similar tools.Familiar with Jenkins to the degree of being able to run and modify declarative pipeline is an asset.Hands-on experience with working with VMs in vSphere with multiple OS is an asset.Strong Scripting experience is an asset.Strong ability to test and automate API tests using REST Assured as well as Java coding skills, up to the hardware.Very good oral and written communication skills in both official languages (bilingual).Ability to handle several issues simultaneously.Team player, good interpersonal skills, and autonomous.Goal-oriented, proactive.Why join us?To acquire experience in different critical industries and projects while working for the same company;To have a competitive salary and a great benefits package (dental, life and medical insurance, RRSP matching, sick days, vacation);To access training that focuses on expanding your knowledge while staying up to date with cutting-edge technologies and best practices;To have a clear career development plan that suits your goals;To have the possibility of working abroad through our mobility program thanks to our international presence;To join a dynamic, specialized, and fast-growing group where communication is key and where every team member is valued;To be part of a team where having fun is essential (team building events, 5 à 7, Marathon, and more!).Who are we?Scalian is a multinational engineering consulting firm with 5500 specialists in 11 countries and over 30 years of experience.Our expertise in digital systems and operation performance serves various technological sectors, such as the aerospace, defense, rail, and energy industries, while providing distinctive support to their development and operations.At Scalian, we place people at the heart of our concerns.
