Shift Supervisor (Nights)

Part of a major international group, this organisation has a world class manufacturing facility producing high value products for the automotive industry and as a result of an expanding order book an experienced Shift Manager is sought to oversee the night shift. The Shift Supervisor will be able to implement best practice and maintain rigour around the KPIs in a fast paced high volume environment.  Production Shift Supervisor – Permanent Night Shift Salary: £48,600 package + benefits Location: Shropshire (commutable from Telford, Shrewsbury, Kidderminster, Bridgnorth, Cannock, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, Stafford areas) Requirements of the Shift Supervisor:-  o Lead and supervise a team managing resources and processes in a manufacturing facility. o Responsibility for all aspects of departmental health, safety, environment and waste streams o Manage, lead, develop, coach and engage a team of employees by deploying strong leadership qualities. o Set clear expectations of the team, build an understanding of the plant & processes and identify bottlenecks & opportunities. o Ensure shift handovers take place at the workstation to ensure production continuity. o Drive the team to deliver targets on time to assist meeting the business plan Experience required for the Shift Supervisor:-  You will already be an experienced Shift Manager, Shift Supervisor or Production Supervisor working within fast paced volume manufacturing environment and seeking your next career step with an expanding and successful organisation. o Experience of leading teams in a high volume, pressurised manufacturing environment, ideally with some knowledge of the automotive industry o Experience of coaching and mentoring a team. o Experience of optimising production facilities and delivery of continuous improvement/ lean manufacturing objectives o Able to plan and organise manning, materials and production in a busy environment along with excellent management, prioritisation and organisational skills o Assertive, independent and self sufficient with the ability to cope effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines o Ability to drive performance against KPI's o Good oral & written communication skills o Management or supervisory qualifications ; ILM, NVQ4, HNC, Degree o Time served / BTEC Mechanical Engineering and lean/ sigma training highly desirable o Willing to work permanent night shift – Monday to Friday 10pm – 6am About Our Client: Our client is an international market leader in the manufacturing of high value automotive components supplied directly into a major automotive OEMs on a JIT basis. On the back of growing sales the business is producing at full capacity and currently tendering for further work which could facility further expansion of the premises and additional capex.  Working over three shifts the facility has a mix of automated machinery and manual assembly operations producing medium volume finished products on a Just in Time basis.
