Sanctuary AI, a world leader in building AI-based control systems for humanoid robots, is looking to hire a Director, Government Relations to manage all government-related sales, grants, and legislative activities relevant to our organization. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this individual will play a pivotal role in navigating the complexities of government and defense sectors, driving sales, and fostering strategic relationships.The Director of Government Relations will lead the development and execution of government sales strategies, build and maintain relationships with key government officials, navigate regulatory landscapes, and ensure compliance with government policies. Securing government contracts and funding opportunities will play a key role in the overall success and expansion of Sanctuary AI's presence around the world.Our Success CriteriaSuccessfully secure key government contracts and partnershipsProspect eligible programs, draft grant applications, and manage existing grant awardsEffectively navigate and comply with regulatory requirementsBuild a robust network of government and defense industry contactsDevelop and implement an effective government relations strategy and roadmapCollaborate internally to align government relations strategies with company goalsAchieve sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of Sanctuary AIYour ExperienceQualificationsBachelor's degree in political science, business, or related field and/or equivalent work experience5+ years' experience in government relations or defense salesExisting network of government and defense industry contacts in Ottawa, Canada and/or Washington, D.C., USAStrong understanding of regulatory landscapes and compliance requirementsProven track record of securing government contracts and fundingExcellent communication and negotiation skillsSkillsStrategic planning and executionRelationship-building and networkingRegulatory and compliance expertiseNegotiation and salesLeadership and team managementAbove all else, a consistently positive attitude and a willingness to do whatever it takes to create robust solutions to mission objectivesSuccessful candidates will be a proponent of personal responsibility for themselves and their teammatesStrategic thinker with a proactive approachExcellent communicator and negotiatorStrong relationship-building skillsDetail-oriented with a focus on complianceEmpathetic listener with conflict resolution capabilitiesConsistent bias for action, communication, and interpersonal savvySelf-motivated and able to solve problems independentlyMission driven and passionate about bringing human-like intelligence to machines #J-18808-Ljbffr
