Manager, Aerospace Structures Design Engineering - CanadaOur Aerospace Client based in Canada is looking to appoint a Manager of Aircraft Structures Design. This is a highly responsible role and they seek an experienced individual who can clearly demonstrate many years of experience within Aerospace Structures Design and Management experience of teams of engineers. Candidates must be willing to live and work locally in Canada on a permanent basis. Our client operates hybrid working arrangements.The Role:Lead a team of Integration specialists who are responsible for the design of our client's product portfolio.Work collaboratively with platforms internal and external suppliers.Work collaboratively with each platform leader, to align on priorities and decisions.Manage the Engineering Statement of Work.Manage the engineering budget and spend for the department.Perform employee performance reviews and make salary review recommendations.Participate in the recruitment and integration of new employees.Participate in management meetings and organize departmental governance.Communicate effectively and support decisions and messages to and from management.Ensure that the management system is in place to organize and control the tasks and the priorities, with appropriate levels of visibility to issues and risks and associated mitigation plan.Support employees to enable them to reach their goals and deliverables by providing coaching, mentoring and training both for technical and soft skills.Responsible for deployment of Lessons Learned and Best Project Practices.Some level of support/coordination for Production and In-Service resolution of issues.Develop and evaluate your employees.Skills, Experience and Qualifications:You hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline. Aerospace specialty is an asset.You have approximately 20 years of experience working with multidisciplinary and technically complex projects in the Aerospace industry with at least three years of supervisory experience.You have knowledge of design tools.You have knowledge of MRB.You have experience in multi-disciplinary designs.You have knowledge of manufacturing methods.You have strong people management and leadership qualities with an ability to mobilize and foster an environment of teamwork within cross-functional teams facilitating discussions and resolving issues to meet the business objectives.You have demonstrated leadership behaviours that support putting people first, work in teams, value teamwork, and drive for performance excellence while exhibiting a winning attitude.You are pro-active, results orientated and innovative with a view for business improvement.You have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build consensus without formal authority.You must be fluent in English.Please note: You don’t need all the skills, knowledge, and experience listed for this position.
