We are looking for an experienced self-employed Mortgage Broker to join our team and deliver a high-quality advisory service that adheres to the FCA’s rules and our firm’s best practices.
Purpose of the Role:
To competently provide mortgage and protection advice to clients, ensuring all advice is aligned with FCA regulations and company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide mortgage advice tailored to client needs, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Identify and contact potential clients to build and develop a strong client base.
- Gather and analyse client information to identify specific needs and conduct sufficient research to make suitable recommendations.
- Complete all supporting documentation with precision and accuracy.
- Deliver a level of service as agreed with each client in a timely manner.
- Maintain competent status as defined by the FCA and the firm’s procedures.
- Stay updated with new products, technical advancements, and legislative changes within the marketplace.
- Comply at all times with the firm’s Compliance and Training & Competence Schemes/Procedures.
- Abide by the requirements of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and the FCA’s Principles, Rules, and Code of Practice for Approved Persons.
- Consistently meet performance standards outlined in the firm’s Key Performance Indicators.
- Undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to maintain and enhance competence and skills.
Skills / Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a mortgage advisory role.
- CeMAP qualified (or equivalent).
- Strong ability to build and nurture professional relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Analytical and adept at research with strong numerical skills.
- Ability to provide complex information in a simple and accessible manner.
- Proven track record of providing exceptional client service.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Highly organized with effective time management.
- Ability to make informed decisions independently.
- In-depth technical product knowledge in the mortgage and protection space.
- Professional, ethical, and self-motivated with a flexible approach to meeting clients’ needs.
- Discretion and confidentiality.
