In this role you will be responsible for initiating and leading the development and execution of a profitable growth expansion of our new Canadian ELIP resale business, with the aspiration to double the business over the next 3 years. This position will partner closely with the Product Management, Engineering, SCM, Operations and the Sales teams to define and flawlessly execute a strategy that focuses on accretive bolt-on products to increase the breadth of our portfolio. Plans and implements product strategies to meet business objectives in line with local product strategy and division go to market strategy.

Your responsibilities

  • As the Product Management Manager for the industrial and Utility team, you lead a team 5 to 7 Product Managers. You report to the Product Marketing Director and oversee all aspects of the product, systems or services strategy, the product plans, market intelligence analysis, Price positioning and increases, complete life cycle management including development, maintenance and improvement of the offering.
  • You are accountable for the long-term profitable growth of the portfolio of products.
  • Working with global and local product management and marketing teams, you establish and drive the 3 to 5 years business strategy and objectives for the industrial and utility products ensuring strategy is based on VOC and market trends. You also ensure these strategies are developed into product plans and actions to address each segment, product portfolio challenge and or customer segmentation need.
  • Working with R&D, sales and operation teams, you actively manage the product development pipeline and ensure we maintain of a steady roadmap of new product initiatives.
  • Defines the business model and directs creation of the local product/system/service business plans, ensuring fit with division global strategy and support our growth ambitions.
  • Collaborating with peers in Sales, Product Management, Operations, Distribution, Pricing, Commercial Ops., Finance and Engineering, as well as global peers, to develop and implement an impactful strategy.
  • Visits key customers and accounts in order to remain connected with trends and supports the sales organization in managing challenging customer situations if they occur.
  • Leads the local Product Management industrial and Utility team in order to meet the P&L target of the local unit. Ensures (with HR Manager support) that the Local Product Management organization is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct subordinates within HR policies.

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or management, MBA is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience of managing marketing and sales strategies, change management skills, at least 7 years of relevant experience and strong track record in relevant sector, including team management and leadership.
  • Product development experience is an asset.
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach, with strong communication and relationship-building skills in French and English, with the ability to mobilize and motivate a team and represent the organization well.
  • English is required as this position will service internal and external clients from other provinces.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate the value of digital and develop strategies to increase digital sales.
  • Extensive business and industry experience, financial skills and understanding of the Canadian electrical distribution and retail market is an asset.
  • 1 trip per week to our office in Iberville.
