Dunbar Education, a leading recruitment agency specialising in education, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Mentor to join an SEN School team. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with SEN, particularly focusing on SEMH needs. Implement strategies to manage and address challenging behaviour effectively. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SENCO to create a supportive learning environment. Foster positive relationships with students, offering guidance and encouragement. Assist in the development and implementation of individualised behaviour plans. Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour incidents.Requirements: Full-time availability; no part-time candidates will be considered. Minimum of 6 months experience working within a school setting, preferably in SEN. Understanding of SEMH and experience in managing challenging behaviour. Possession of an enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one. Availability to work during term times.Ideal Candidate: Kind, caring, and empathetic towards students' needs. Patient and able to remain calm in challenging situations. Thorough understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning.
