Summary
The Project Manager is responsible the performance of task orders of varying size under the company's Multiple Award Construction Contract (MACC). The Project Manager will maintain positive client relationships, bid task orders, and successfully execute award task orders. The Project Manager ensures safe completion of task order projects within budget, on schedule, to the company's quality standards and to the customer's satisfaction. Responsibilities are typically: client coordination, safety compliance, project budget, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, material handling, daily reports, quality control and craft training. The Project Manager's duties will vary as required to support the project team. This is a hands on position and will require the ability to adapt and be flexible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Estimating - Developing estimates using RS Means software and subcontractor quotes. Ability to use estimating software and excel to develop winning bids. Safety - The primary responsibility for job safety rests with the Project Manager. Ensures safety is properly incorporated into job planning and execution; promote accountability among staff members and subcontractors as it relates to the project safety policies; and enforce these policies by actively participating in all safety-related functions. Develops, provides and maintains a Safety Plan based upon OSHA Safety Plan Requirements. Quality - The Project Manager is responsible for all quality control on the project, both Company and subcontractors. Any repetitive quality problems with a subcontractor or vendor should be called to upper management's attention. The Company has a policy and past record of providing high quality work and this high-quality standard is to be maintained on each project. Job Planning - Development and implementation of the pre-job plan. Make course corrections to the plan as required. Create material handling and site utilization plans. Scheduling - Develops the project schedule and participates in project scheduling to the extent necessary to ensure that it complies with the job planning. Prepare an electronic daily construction report to be provided to the COR/PM daily. Maintain accurate time keeping and cost records Material Receiving - ensure that material received is properly inspected for quantity and quality, and that the receiving tickets are properly signed and coded. Coordinate and supervise all Company work forces on the project. Establish and maintain positive relations with the tenant(s), public authorities, jurisdictions and neighborhood Manage the completion of the project with the spirit of partnering and without litigation Provide timely reports and communications Ensure that all sensitive documents are handled, distributed, archived and destroyed according to established project procedures Follow all security requirements in the delivery of this project Be sensitive to special requirements of the customer to ensure satisfactory relations Maintain Project Logs Complete the project on-time, within the overall project budget with no safety incidents or security violations or infractions Work closely with the Finance Department to prepare and maintain the (EAC) estimate at completion for monthly updates Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering desired 10+ years in project management or a similar role Demonstrated performance as a Project Manager for US Army Corps of Engineers and Department of Defense construction projects Professional Engineer License Preferred OSHA 30 Hour Certificate USACE Quality Control Managers Course Certificate Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability and desire to work collaboratively to ensure successful project execution Manage sensitive information appropriately and maintain confidentiality Strong aptitude to work within deadlines Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Proven ability to multi-task in a fast -paced environment Software proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Project, Work SharePoint) and Adobe Suite and report writing applications Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise all personnel on site
Physical Demands
Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, knee., crouch or crawl; talk or hear. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
