It intends to use carbon finance as a tool to leverage development of forest-related projects with outstanding value for communities, soil, biodiversity, and climate.The VCM is a market-based tool designed to channel financial flows towards mitigation solutions including enhancement of natural carbon pools. It allows individuals and organizations to finance Nature Based Solution projects with demonstrated carbon removals. The VCM is expected to grow 15-fold by 2030 and demand for forest-based projects is already driving the development of our reforestation and afforestation activities.In this context, Reforest’Action is seeking a Senior Carbon Manager to assist the Certified carbon Project team in achieving AFOLU project certification under VCM standards (VCS, Gold standards, VCS +CCB).YOUR KEY MISSIONSOperational, technical and strategic supervision of a project portfolio- Supervising and supporting the project team throughout the development process- Supervising the various technical aspects of project development: design/operations, certification, monitoring, financial and contractual aspects from the opportunity phase through to implementation.- Ensuring the operational performance and certification of an AFOLU projects’ portfolio- Leading for strategic interactions with the Project Implementer- Validating and taking responsibility´ for all deliverables- Providing technical contribution to commercial activities for project promotion and financing.Contribute to the structuring and development of the Climate Solution team on project-related issues:- Portfolio management: geographical distribution, project types, prioritization, etc.- Improvement of project development processes: general process optimization, due diligence, monitoring, business plans, project financial aspects, tools, etcContribute to the structuring and development of the CS team on non projects-related issues- Coordinating with sales and operations teams, ensuring effective distribution of roles;- Providing support for team skills development and training;- Reflecting on the positioning of the Climate Solutions offering (marketing, sales, benchmarks, etc.);- Supporting the Sales & Business Development Department with sales proposals;- Participating in recruitment activities;- Monitoring Carbon /VMC initiatives- Representing the company in technical working groups or conferences.PROFILEQualifications and experiencesAt least 5 years of experience in the development of large scale projects for the VCM (VCS/Gold standard) with a preference for tropical areasExperience in team management in a project context (1 to 5 people)Field experience on ARR projects development (relationship with project implementer, contract negociations, due diligence, business plans,monitoring plans, operational implementation, etc.)Deep knowledge of certification methodologies (ARR, IFM, etc.Your skills & attitudesResult-orientedPedagogical skillsAbility to achieve in-depth mastery of technical topics and close project supervisionOffer constructive insight into strategic topics in order to improve of team structure and scaleupRecruitment process & useful informationAfter a first interview with a member of the HR team, you will also meet with members of your future team.
