What to expect as your main responsibilities:
- Be responsible for developing processes and boilerplates for contracts and governance.
- Reviewing documentation, processes, and practices.
- Developing and enacting regulatory compliance strategies.
- Coordinating regulatory compliance procedures across organizational structures.
- Monitoring compliance and facilitating interventions to manage risks.
- Keeping abreast of regulatory changes and developments in the regulatory environment.
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts,including engineering services agreements,softwarelicense agreements, distribution agreements, statements of work, leases asset purchase agreements and sales contracts.
- Be solicited by your clients regularly in order to ensure compliance with contracts and to obtain an interpretation on different contractual provisions. Your recommendations will impact the day-to-day relationships with our customers and our service providers.
- Possess strong contract drafting skills which enable you to draft agreements from scratch.
- Be called upon to negotiate contracts with customers and service providers.
- Have good business acumen.
- You have a minimum offive(5) years of experience in the negotiation of commercial transactions and drafting of commercial agreements.
- A business or law degree will be considered an asset. Knowledge of Quebec law or U.S. law will be considered an asset.
- Extensive knowledge of industry regulations and governing laws.
- At least three years experience as a regulatory compliance specialist, or similar.
- Sound business judgment, coupled with good business sense, allowing you to provide efficient, value-added advice and solutions is essential.
- Your ability to summarize concepts and details in relation to contracts is essential.
- You have strong organizational skills;
- You have the ability to work independently when required and as a strong team player at other times, always ready to collaborate with others.
- You are perfectly bilingual (French and English), both verbally and in writing.(The position requires regular interaction with colleagues, suppliers and customers based outside of Quebec, nationally and internationally).
- You have good knowledge of MS-Office environment (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
