The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for aproactive Research Associate who is specialist in Tissue Culture andDisease Diagnostic to work with the project team and other partners on the project titled: ‘Developing local Seed Potato Production System in West Bengal.’ About the role This position will be based in West Bengal and theselected candidate will be responsible for Tissue Culture and the Diseasediagnostic in Lab as well as field level. The position requires workingexperience in Plant Tissue Culture and handling disease diagnostic tools, likeELISA. This position will be based in Siliguri,West Bengal, India and will report to the Project Manager of West BengalProject. Key responsibilities: The selectedcandidate will mainly focus on these tasks/responsibilities below: Assist in the development and maintenance of tissue culture lines. Conduct diagnostic tests for plant diseases using molecular andbiochemical methods. Maintain accurate records of experiments and results. Prepare reagents, media, and other materials for laboratory work. Support senior researchers in data collection and analysis. Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment. Follow laboratory safety protocols and guidelines. Requirements Master’s degree in biotechnology, Plant Science, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in tissue culture and plant diseasediagnostics. Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR and ELISA. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Advance written and verbal communication skills in English, Hindi andBengali.
