Job Title: Health and Safety Consultant
At Lidl - Head Office, we are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Consultant to join our Trading Compliance department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the business remains legally compliant and maintains a strong commitment to safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Provide guidance on relevant health and safety topics and reactive support to maintain Lidl at the forefront of regulatory compliance
- Ensure risk assessments and internal procedures remain current, compliant, and effective
- Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures to ensure health and safety is at the forefront of decision-making
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure the necessary levels of understanding and compliance are in place
- Produce, evaluate, and issue various analysis and performance reports
- Represent and support the company during local authority contacts
- Liaise with external service providers to ensure the highest levels of service and statutory compliance
Requirements:
- A relevant degree (e.g. Environment Health) with relevant experience or working towards the NEBOSH Diploma with relevant experience
- Or Hold the NEBOSH General certificate and have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role ideally within a multi-site retail or warehousing environment
- Sound knowledge of UK Health & Safety Legislation
- Membership of a relevant industry body (e.g. IOSH)
- Excellent communication skills with proven experience engaging with key internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to influence and persuade people at all levels within the organisation
- Results orientated and comfortable communicating at all levels of seniority within a large organisation
- Effective time management skills, able to work within tight time frames
- Strong written skills and IT skills including proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Flexibility to travel to all areas within GB and must hold a full UK driving licence
