About Us: The School ZEN Educate is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for boys aged 8-16 who struggle to cope with mainstream educational settings due to their social, emotional, behavioural, or communication needs. Role Overview: As a Part-Time Art and DT Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and creative lessons that meet the needs of our students. You will create a supportive learning environment that encourages artistic expression and technical skills. Your ability to manage challenging behaviour and provide individualized support will be crucial in helping our students succeed. Key Responsibilities: * Plan and deliver high-quality Art and DT lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEMH needs. * Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students. * Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement and learning. * Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed. * Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and therapists to ensure holistic support for students. * Participate in school activities and events that promote student engagement and wellbeing. Requirements: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization in Art and/or Design Technology. * Experience teaching in a secondary school setting. * Experience supporting students with SEMH needs. * Strong classroom management skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * A compassionate and patient approach to working with students. * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
