Production Operative - WF14

Job Title: Production Operative
Location: WF14
Wage: £12.20 per hour
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts (Week 1: 6am-2pm, Week 2: 2pm-10pm)

As a Production Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring that products, such as fillings for sofas and mattresses, meet the required quality standards and specifications. You will be responsible for checking products, managing stock, and ensuring that the warehouse processes run smoothly. This role also offers the opportunity to be trained on machine operation and work in a dynamic, fast-paced warehouse environment.

• Adhere to Safety and PPE Policies: Follow all safety protocols and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
  
• Monitor Machine Operations: Ensure that bagging machines are operating with the correct settings and that rolls are changed when necessary.
  
• Handle Stock Control: Scan and book finished products into the warehouse stock control system (SAP) and ensure bookings are accurate.
  
• Process Orders: Follow correct procedures for fast-tracking orders and ensure products are made according to customer specifications.
  
• Product Quality Control: Ensure all products meet customer specifications and report any quality issues to the Team Leader or Shift Manager.
  
• Maintain Work Area: Keep your work area clean and organised, disposing of waste appropriately through waste pickers.
  
• Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Assist in resolving operational issues and participate in continuous process improvements.
  
• Communication: Keep Shift Manager informed of any issues or concerns regarding operations or quality.
  
• Warehouse Duties: Safely move finished products into the warehouse and ensure cages are filled correctly and securely.
  
• Cross-Functional Training: Possibility of being trained on machine operations for career development.

• Physically Fit: Capable of manual handling and physically demanding tasks.
  
• Computer Literate: Familiar with basic computer systems and stock control software.
  
• Attention to Detail: Able to ensure accuracy when scanning and booking products and handling stock.
  
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues and work effectively to minimise production downtime.
  
• Good Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  
• Work Well Under Pressure: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a busy production environment.

• Educational Background: GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  
• Production/Warehouse Experience: Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or warehousing environment is preferred.
  
• Stock Management Systems: Experience with stock systems is advantageous.
  
• Machine Operation Experience: Knowledge of using computerised equipment and machinery is preferred.
